Technical Consultant –Mortgage Domain

About the role

As a Technical Consultant, you will make an impact by driving platform-based transformation engagements in the banking domain, ensuring successful product implementations and stakeholder alignment. You will be a valued member of our ISG Practice and work collaboratively with product vendors, clients, and internal teams to deliver best‑in‑class solutions.

In this role, you will:

  • Meeting clients, understanding objectives, gathering requirements, analysing current systems.
  • Recommending, designing, customizing, and implementing hardware/software solutions.
  • Creating reports, documenting processes, and training client staff/users on new systems.

Overall 8+ years of experience with

  • In-depth knowledge of the primary language, its associated frameworks, libraries, and standard development tools.
  • The ability to evaluate and guide system architecture decisions, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and efficiency within the chosen tech stack.
  • Grasping complex concepts, understanding system architecture, working with APIs, databases (SQL), scripting, cloud tech.
  • Expertise in build automation tools and version control systems like Git.
  • Strong understanding and application of unit testing, integration testing, and knowledge of test‑driven development (TDD) principles.
  • Ability to apply object‑oriented design principles and various design patterns to build scalable and maintainable applications.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and experience with designing and implementing microservices architecture.

Work model

Onsite – This role requires presence at the client or Cognizant office in Amsterdam. We strive to provide flexibility wherever possible and support a healthy work‑life balance through various wellbeing programs.

  • Experience in one of the major language ecosystems (Java, Python, .Net , JavaScript etc.)
  • Experience in the frameworks related to language ecosystem
  • Experience in Integration Patterns (EIP)
  • Experience in Microservices Architecture, RESTful APIs
  • Experience in Message‑Oriented Middleware (JMS, ActiveMQ)
  • Experience in Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies
  • Experience in Cloud (AWS, Azure)
