Welcome to Crowne Plaza Amsterdam – South, a modern business hotel in the lively Zuidas district.

Your day to day:


The kitchen assistant (keukenhulp) performs supportive tasks (cleaning, dishwashing, restocking) and mostly preparatory tasks (cutting/portioning products for mise en place) in the kitchen.


  • Preparing various food items, and other necessities according to the prevailing hygiene standards (HACCP).


  • Preparing (or pre-preparing) meals, sandwiches, and snacks.


  • Assisting colleagues with preparatory and simple operational tasks.


  • Restocking kitchen and canteen supplies from storage when necessary.


  • Notifying necessary stock replenishments.


  • Washing utensils, tools, and other kitchen equipment, and placing them hygienically in their proper locations.


  • Collecting and disposing of waste when necessary.


  • Setting up (support) equipment for colleagues.


  • Cleaning the work environment.


  • Being attentive to compliance with established rules regarding corporate and personal hygiene and work and presentation methods.


Job Requirements:


  • MBO level 1-2, preferred but not necessary.


  • Experience in a kitchen environment, preferred but not necessary.


  • Ability to handle stress.


  • Attention to detail.


  • Good communication skills in English and preferably also in Dutch, but not necessary.  Another language is always a plus.


  • Hygienic practices.


  • Wanting to learn e develop in the role.
