At Park Centraal Den Haag, we aim to deliver the best hospitality experience that goes above and beyond. To make this happen, we are looking for you! As our (Demi) Chef de Partie, you will be involved in the daily kitchen operations. Sometimes you will work alongside a colleague, and at other times you will work independently. With your vibrant personality and your hands‑on mentality, you provide outstanding dishes for our guests.
What you're going to do
- Preparing various dishes as part of the breakfast, lunch, or dinner buffet, as well as supporting banqueting events (parties & events);
- Preparing the mise en place for the following day(s);
- Assisting in managing different sections of the kitchen, such as inventory and cleanliness;
- Guiding new employees and junior colleagues;
- Following health and safety procedures (HACCP).
Although the hotel does not have an á la carte restaurant, we do offer a dynamic working environment. In addition to breakfast, the hotel serves lunch and dinner buffets to various groups of guests. Furthermore, the hotel regularly hosts parties and events for which we provide catering.
In short, every day is different, and you will work with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. In this environment, it is essential that you maintain an overview at all times, set priorities, and switch tasks quickly. You are able to build strong connections with different departments and take initiative when decisions need to be made.
Why you are the best candidate
To succeed in this role, we believe you should have a minimum of one year of work experience in the kitchen. You speak and write fluently in English, and Dutch is a plus. It goes without saying that you have an affinity with hospitality and cooking, you are a natural and creative professional with good communication skills. You posses the essential knife skills and you have strong knowledge of ingredients and recipes. You have attention to detail and you are able to work under pressure and in a team.
